Work hard, play hard. This week has been a mixture of finalising projects and time off for prebooked activities. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and work/life balance can be tough, especially in the busy run up to Christmas.
As usual the industry has provided a great selection of conferences, with a variety of topics and interesting speakers. I made it to a few this year, and had a lovely and informative time.
I spent my Friday listening to a diverse range of talks in the beautiful LSO St Luke’s, London. I opted not to take notes, and just let it all sink in. Here’s a quick rundown of what I saw.
NB: This is a later posting of something I found half written in my Dropbox! You can find out more about the conferences at their links. Yesterday I attended Kyan’s Web Expo Guildford. I missed last years, but had resolved to go to this one after seeing the fantastic variety of speakers they’d had.
I quit my job on Wednesday. “Where are you off to?” NOWHERE! I can’t explain how freeing that word is, but I’m going to try and explain why.
Today I found some time to do some updates to Jaz Design. They were mostly small changes, but I’m already happier with the differences. I’ve been doing other things in the background over the last few months as well, including the addition of Cantor Hindson to my portfolio. Work-wise, I’ve been ramping up my knowledge of responsive […]
I wouldn’t do this for any other project and it’s making me itchy that it’s not my idea of perfect, BUT I finally have a portfolio website. I suspect if I wasn’t about to attend a few web/design events I still wouldn’t have one. I have had a serious case of cobbler’s shoes. For the […]
